1. ferry information:

• Schedule and frequency: ferries to Brač run regularly from the port of Split to Supetar, the main port on Brač. In summer, ferries run more frequently to meet higher demand. You can check the current schedule HERE. Just select SPLIT (or another city if you happen to want to sail from another port) and SUPETAR (BRAČ) destination from the drop-down list. Remember that you have to buy tickets for each person as well as for the car (if it sails with you).
• Duration of trip: The ferry trip from Split to Supetar usually takes about 50 minutes.
• Ticket prices: Prices vary depending on whether you are traveling alone or with a car. Tickets for pedestrians are much cheaper than for cars. Above is the price list for the Split-Supetar ferry. If you decide to go by Catamaran to the town of Bol, prices are slightly higher- 20e to people from 3+. CATAMARAN DOES NOT CARRY MOTOR VEHICLES!
  I recommend booking tickets online during the tourist season. Also keep in mind that during the summer season, due to the high demand, you need to arrive at the port about 1h earlier and queue by car for the ferry.

2 Transportation on the island:

• Car and scooter rentals: When you arrive on the island, if you arrive without a car, you can rent a car or scooter, which is a convenient way to explore Brač. Many rental companies are located near the port in Supetar.

• Buses: There is a bus network on Brač that connects larger towns such as Supetar, Bol, Milna and others. Schedules may be limited, so it’s a good idea to check them in advance. You can check them on the GetByBus website-just enter Supetar, Brac (HR)-the destination. The search engine is available in multiple languages.

3 Attractions, monuments and places of interest:

• Zlatni Rat beach in Bol: One of the most recognizable beaches in the world, known for its unique shape that changes under the influence of winds and currents.
• View of the Adriatic Sea from Vidova Gora: The island’s highest point offers breathtaking views of the sea and neighboring islands.
• Pustinja Blaca: A historic hermit monastery hidden among rocky hills, accessible on foot via a scenic path.
• Olive oil museum- Olive oil museum – in the village of Škrip. Beautiful place! In addition, the village itself is the oldest village on the island with incredible charm.

• Pučišća-a museum of stonemasonry-is where the famous white stone from which the White House in Washington, the parliament building in Vienna or the Doklecjan Palace in Split was built comes from.
• Stone Sculpture School-the most distinctive building of the school, just made of Brač stone. It is impossible to pass by it indifferently, because despite its simplicity, it is extremely majestic. There is also a museum in the building, which I recommend visiting!
• Blaca Hermitage-is a unique place, hidden in the mountains, between the village of Milna and Bol.
  “The hermitage (monastery) was founded in the 16th century by Glagolitic priests from Poljica who fled the Turks and came to Brac. The Blaca desert can be reached from several directions, but always only on foot. The road, which has been trampled by mules and horses for centuries, is still the only connection to the world. Visitors can come by car from Nerežišće, through the Vidova gora area to the Dragovod area, and then have to walk about half an hour to Blac. The Blaci museum and monastery can also be reached by boat from Bol to Blatac Bay, from where the trip takes a half-hour walk. You can find a price list for museum tickets here.”
• Dragon’s Cave – not far from the village of Murvica there is an unusual cave where you can admire the reliefs carved into the rocks by monks in the 15th century.
• Kitesurfing and windsurfing – The area around Bol, especially on Zlatni Rat beach, has ideal conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing, thanks to suitable winds and open water areas.

Additional tips:

• Plan ahead: The island is a popular tourist destination in the summer, so if you plan to stay there overnight or want to rent a car or scooter, plan your trip in advance and book everything in advance.
• Get to know the local culture: Brač has a rich culture and history. By visiting local markets, museums and festivals, you can get to know more about the island’s traditions and the local community. For example, this year the Brač Film Festival will be held from August 7-10. If you want to visit without the crowds, we recommend you go before the peak season, so by about 15.06 or after 15.09, then all of Croatia slows down a bit after the summer madness and there are far fewer tourists.
• Indulge in local cuisine: Don’t miss the opportunity to try local delicacies such as lamb, fresh seafood and traditional Dalmatian wines. If you are a foodie, a visit to Stina Winery is a must.
