Croatia for children – attractions, part 1
Croatia, the pearl of the Adriatic, has been delighting tourists from all over the world for years with its picturesque coastline, crystal clear waters and historical wealth. But it is not just a place for sun and history lovers. Families travelling with children will quickly discover that Croatia is a country full of adventure and unforgettable experiences, tailored to the needs of the youngest explorers. From north to south, east to west, the country hides an endless array of attractions that can fill every day of your stay with joy, laughter and fun.
Water parks are a veritable kingdom of entertainment, where toddlers and those a little older can spend time enjoying slides, wave pools and many other water attractions. It’s also home to breathtaking national parks, which I’ve written about here, fascinating monuments, interactive museums and child-friendly beaches that ensure there’s something for every family.
Although, in this and subsequent posts I will show you how to coolly plan an interesting stay with kids in Croatia.
Istralandia
It is located near Novigrad in Istria. This water park has won numerous awards and offers a wide range of slides, pools and attractions for the whole family. It is ideal for people of all ages, from young children to adrenaline-seeking adults. In the upcoming 2024 season. opens from 25 May and will be open until 15 September.

Aquacolors Poreč
One of the largest water parks in south-eastern Europe, located near Poreč. It offers a variety of attractions, including long slides, wave pools and a lazy river. It is the perfect place for families with children who want to spend the whole day having fun in the water.You will find 12 different slides, an imitation river, a crocodile cave bar, a children’s playground or great refreshment facilities!

Aquapark Dalmatia Šibenik
Part of the Amadria Park resort near Šybenik. It is a small but attractive water park, ideal for families with young children. It offers safe slides, children’s pools and lots of fun water attractions. At the resort, in addition to Aquapart Dalmatia, you will also find the Ethno village, En Vogue Beach Club, Mediteranski grad or the ship Galija Explorer.

Dalmaland
Dalmaland is a relatively new attraction in Croatia that has quickly gained popularity as one of the favorite destinations for families with children visiting the Dalmatian region. Although my information is current to April 2023, and there may have been new attractions or changes since then, here’s what you should know about Dalmaland based on the available data:
Dalmaland, located in the heart of Dalmatia, in Biograd na Moru, is designed to offer entertainment for the whole family, with an emphasis on safety and fun for children. The park is designed to combine water elements with other types of attractions, including playgrounds, interactive zones and educational areas designed to introduce children to the region’s nature and culture.
In addition to a great aqua park area, you’ll find an equally interesting FUN PARK on site!

Zaton Holiday Resort
At the resort you will find accommodation in mobile homes, apartments or camping plots, as well as a great swimming pool area, catering, children’s entertainment or sports fields. The resort’s offerings are extensive. During the season you’ll find everything from art performances, outdoor activities, horseback riding, concerts, themed events to blissful relaxation by the pools or on the beach. Even your pet is welcome there and the resort is large enough that you won’t get bored, even if you decide not to leave it for the entire stay! 🙂 Zaton is a great place, but note that the pool area can only be used by resort guests during the season.
